To further strengthen our Operations department, we are seeking a Design Engineer who will be reporting technically to the Operations Department Manager and administratively to the Country General Manager.
Your tasks
- Responsible for using AutoCAD and Revit/BIM modeling (computer-aided design) to develop mechanical drawings for industrial refrigeration systems
- Produce technically accurate design sets in a timely manner in line with company requirements and schedules
- Understand project scope and plan required design phases
- Prepare drawings and material take-offs according to project schedules
- Understand how refrigeration components integrate within the overall system
- Identify and size critical components based on project design requirements
- Optimize cost estimates based on available project information
- Develop project schedules aligned with design implementation
- Coordinate inputs from all contributors to ensure smooth project execution
- Organize activities in a structured manner to achieve technically sound design outcomes
- Plan and coordinate the movement of materials, machinery, and equipment across locations
- Evaluate and select appropriate mechanical application solutions
- Utilize technical resources such as equipment catalogs, vendor software, and online data sources
- Apply design principles consistently across all projects
- Support the development and communication of refrigeration application standards
- Coordinate with the Operations and Technical Manager to prioritize project requirements
- Adapt and reuse existing design concepts where applicable
- Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Technical Manager
Your profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Technology, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with industrial and process refrigeration systems
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM modeling (computer-aided design) and familiar with project planning tools
- Strong understanding of industrial refrigeration design, heat transfer, and equipment functionality
- Ability to read and interpret refrigeration system P&IDs and design drawings
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills for both expected and unexpected challenges
- High attention to detail
- Good numerical skills
