To further strengthen our HSE department, we are seeking an HSE Officer who will be reporting technically to the HSE Manager and administratively to the Country Area Manager.
Your tasks
- Monitor and assess hazardous and unsafe conditions and develop measures to ensure personnel safety, including conducting risk assessments for site activities
- Support projects and service operations on site to ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements, including proper planning, coordination, and supervision
- Ensure HSE support and implementation of organizational and customer requirements across sites and branches
- Report accidents and near misses, correct unsafe acts or conditions, and stop unsafe activities when immediate action is required
- Conduct accident investigations, review and analyze reports, develop preventive actions, and ensure implementation
- Conduct regular HSE site inspections and audits, develop preventive actions, and ensure implementation
- Deliver daily toolbox talks and other HSE communications in line with the communication plan
- Provide training to employees and ensure timely completion in line with the HSE training matrix
- Maintain regular communication with client HSE representatives to ensure alignment with expectations and compliance requirements
- Manage PPE provision on site
- Oversee regular tools and equipment inspections on site
- Implement updated procedures and safety initiatives within the project scope
- Ensure timely closure of all assigned tasks
- Manage waste management activities on site
- Ensure the Site Safety and Health Plan is prepared and implemented
- Ensure safety messages are included in each Incident Action Plan
- Liaise with the head of the unit, OHS unit, and other safety personnel
- Monitor compliance with OHS policies and procedures
- Promote OHS awareness and demonstrate strong HSE commitment
Your profile
- Diploma, engineering degree, or any relevant qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Gulf experience is required
- Construction experience is mandatory
- Safety certification such as NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, or IOSH Managing Safely
- Strong knowledge and implementation of international standards such as ISO and construction site safety standards
- Strong commitment to safety leadership and excellence
- Arabic is mandatory, English at an intermediate level is required, French is an advantage
- Good computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid local (Algeria) driving license
- Engineering or mechanical background is an advantage
