Factory-assembled compressor packages simplify installation, reduce on-site assembly, and allow contractors to focus on refrigeration system construction. GEA V-series cooling compressors are available with direct-drive or V-belt drive configurations, while the GEA Grasso 5HP, V HS, V HP, and V XHP ranges are designed exclusively for direct-drive operation. This arrangement supports a compact footprint, stable performance, and lower mechanical losses.
High-power variable-frequency drives and maintenance-free couplings provide accurate capacity control across changing load conditions. This helps reduce energy consumption and ongoing maintenance requirements.
The compressor design also maintains very low oil carryover, typically below 10 ppm in cooling applications. Depending on system requirements, packages can operate with or without an oil separator. When required, high-efficiency oil separators further minimize oil circulation and contamination throughout the refrigeration system.
